The International Swimming Federation has announced next year's World Aquatics Championships have been postponed from 2021 to 2022. The event in Fukuoka, Japan, will now be held between May 13-29 The 15th FINA World Championships (Catalan: Campionat Mundial de Natació de 2013, Spanish: Campeonato Mundial de Natación de 2013) were held from 20 July to 4 August in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The 2013 World Championships featured 6 aquatics disciplines: swimming, water polo, diving, high diving, open water, and synchronised swimming. May 04, 2020 · The 2021 FINA Aquatics World Masters Championships has been pushed back almost 12 months. It was due to be held next year on the island of Kyushu, Japan, from 3-12 August. But with the 2020 Olympic Games being rearranged due to the coronavirus crisis, the 2021 FINA Aquatics World Championships has also been rescheduled. The FINA World Championships or World Aquatics Championships, which was originally sheduled to take place in 2021, has now been resheduled to take place in 2022. The decision came after the Tokyo Olympic 2020 was postponed to July 23 to August 8 next year in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
In January 2016, it was decided at the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Bureau meeting that the 2021 FINA World Championships would be held in Fukuoka. This will be the second time in 21 years the city will play host to the event since the 2001 World Championships, which was the first ever Championships to be staged in Asia.
